관계대명사

문장을 하나로 합치기

💡개념 한 입

IM2의 핵심은 긴 문장이에요. "I have a friend. She lives in Busan."를 who로 묶으면 "I have a friend who lives in Busan." 관계대명사(who·which·that)는 두 문장을 하나로 합쳐서, 짧게 끊기던 답변을 유창하게 만들어줍니다. IL과 IM2를 가르는 결정적 도구예요.

🔑핵심 규칙 · who·which·that로 합치기
who사람 설명I have a friend who lives in Busan.
which사물·장소 설명It's a cafe which has great coffee.
that사람·사물 다 됨The movie that I watched was amazing.
합치는 원리겹치는 명사를 대신a place. + I like the place → a place that I like
막히면 that을 쓰세요. 사람이든 사물이든 다 되는 만능이에요. 'the thing that I like', 'a person that I know'처럼요.

두 문장을 who로 합치세요. 그냥 이어 붙이면 안 돼요.
The movie who I watched was good.
The movie that/which I watched was good.
영화는 사물이니 who가 아니라 that/which.
