유형 1 Question

What technologies do people commonly use in your country? Describe some typical examples and explain why people rely on them.

Talking about technology, huh? That's a big topic. How about I discuss my smartphone? It's like a mini-computer that fits right in my pocket, full of tech that I use every day.

Seriously, I take my phone with me wherever I go. I'm basically glued to it all day, every day.

We use our phones for so many different things, but I reckon the main use is for internet access. Before smartphones came along, we had to sit down at a computer just to go online, which was a total pain.

But these days, with a smartphone, we can do just about everything on the go: listen to music, watch TV, buy tickets... the list goes on.

Yeah, it's safe to say that smartphones have completely changed our lives.

How do you use technology in your own life? Tell me about the different things it helps you with day to day.

Like I mentioned before, there are many types of technology in Korea, but one most commonly used technology is definitely smartphone. There are countless things I can do with my phone.

Let's start with music. In the past, the only ways I could listen to music were on the radio or with an MP3 player. It was a real hassle to download songs. But now, I can stream music on platforms like YouTube. It's so convenient.

I also watch a lot of videos on YouTube or Netflix. Thanks to smartphones, I can watch them anytime, anywhere.

And let's not forget about online banking services. The best part about it is not having to go to a physical bank. Waiting in line was always a pain, but now it's so much simpler with my phone.

Pick one piece of technology and think back on it. Given how fast things have advanced, how has that technology changed over the past ten years?

That's a tough question, but I'll give it my best shot. Let's talk about cellphones. In the past, we had basic phones like NOKIA and Motorola, which were limited and inconvenient. But then Apple came along with the iPhone, and everything changed. Now we have smartphones like Galaxy Series and iPhones. They are super convenient, and I feel like there's nothing I can't do with them. I believe smartphones are the technology that has evolved the most in the last 10 years.

Man, I think I'm just way too dependent on my smartphone. So, funny story, my phone just broke down, like, out of the blue. This made it impossible for me to use my online banking app. And here's the thing, I had to get my rent paid that day, or else my landlord would've smacked me with a late fee. So I was thinking, maybe I could take it to a repair shop, but I needed my phone back ASAP, so that didn’t work. Then, I just called up my buddy.. He told me to just reboot it three times. Can you believe it? That actually worked. Just like magic! So in the end, I paid my rent and avoided the late fee. Guess what I learned from this? AVA, if you're having some troubles, just turn it off and on again.
