Is there a park you especially love? Paint me a picture of what it's like.
Yeah. You may now know that I am living in South Korea. And, one thing that you might not know is that there are thousands of beautiful parks in Korea. I just wanna tell you about my favorite park. The name of the park is Sarabong park.
Well, it’s not that special. What I like the most about this park is that it is located near my house and it actually is within walking distance. It is just right around the corner.
Plus, the park is quite large. Yes, there are lots of visitors to the park but it doesn’t mean it’s crowded. Since it’s a large park, it doesn’t really get packed with people. That is also what I like about this park. Last not but least, the scenery of the park is stunning. I can see the ocean from the top of the cliff and it is mesmerizing. That is why I go there whenever I feel like I am under the weather.
- Within walking distance —
- Under the weather —

When you spend time at the park, what do you actually do there? Give me as many details as you can.
I don’t think I can stand a single day without a park. Anyway, let me tell you what I do when going to a park. Because of the bad flu going around, I couldn’t get much exercise. The thing is I couldn’t hit the gym because I’ve been also busy recently. But, we can easily find parks with good workout equipment. At the park, I usually walk or jog to destress myself. Plus, running at the park is much better than running on a treadmill unless it rains. Also, whenever my gym is closed, I feel like I am losing muscle. As a gym rat, I can’t skip my workout. I use a pull-up bar there to work on my lats and shoulder.
Hmm… what else…? Oh yeah! I take selfies to post on my social media. The scenery there is just crazy. It’s so surreal. Anyway, I just wanna share the beautiful scenery with my buddies. Nowadays, I think going to a park is a big part of my life.

Tell me about the last time you went to a park. Which park was it, what did you do, who was with you, and did anything worth mentioning happen while you were there?
Okay, so. As I said, going to a park is part of my routine. So, I went to the park in my neighborhood a couple of days ago. It was just like any other day. Nothing special. It was not different. I walked around the park while seeing the beautiful scenery and getting some fresh air.
Also, I did some pull-ups. Here’s the thing. My gym was under maintenance, so there was no place for me to work out. And, it’s such a tragedy for a gym rat like me. Pull-up bars and sit-up benches at the park were my life saver.
After exercising, I was starving to death. The funny thing is…. There is a convenience store. You are not gonna believe this. But, they sell the best cup-noodle. It is the best cup noodle I’ve ever had in my entire life. Well, that always ruins my diet but it’s fine as long as it is delicious.
- Fresh air —

Do you have a park memory that stands out — something funny, surprising, or just interesting? Set the scene first — when it was, where, who you were with, what you were doing — and then tell me the story of what made that day unforgettable.
Hmm… It was actually a while ago. Maybe, it’s about three years ago when a terrible flu was going around. You know, I just wanted to have a typical day in the park.
When I was walking along the park, I noticed that there were people drinking in a big group while being extremely loud. They were even breaking the park rules. I thought they were too irresponsible.
So, I asked them politely to keep it down. However, they refused and started to yell at me. I was super confused. And, I was like…. Did I do something wrong? And, they even kept yelling at my girlfriend and I was like…. “What the heck is wrong with you?”
So, I had no choice but to call the police.
Anyway, it might not be a special experience for some people. However, it is memorable because it was my first time reporting to the police officer. Yeah, it still stays in my mind and just thinking about it makes me feel furious again.

6 Question
A friend wants the two of you to go to the park this weekend. Ask three or four questions to find out more about what they have in mind.
Oh, so you are saying, you want to go to a park with me? That’s exactly what I was going to ask you to do this weekend. Anyway, I have some questions.
Where is the park? You know that I don’t drive and I can’t really go to a park that is far from my house unless you pick me up.
Also, what are we going to do there? I think I wanna have a picnic there. I can prepare some food. Perhaps, you can come up with some activities to do there?.Lastly, who’s joining us? Is it going to be just you and me? You know what? I think Jenny is super cool. I think it would be nice if she joins us.
Let me know what you think and please get back to me.

You just found out the park you were planning to visit will be closed next weekend. Call your friend, break the news, and suggest two or three backup plans.
Oh man…. I have bad news to tell you. You know the park we were planning to go to? Actually, it’s closed next weekend. I think we have no choice but to look for other parks. Here’s what I think.
First of all, why don’t we just go to that park next weekend? I checked earlier and it’s not closed that day.
Or, we could just go to a different park. How about we go to the park near my house? It’s beautiful and it’s not that crowded.
If that doesn't work, we could just throw a small party at home. I think the weather is getting hotter and hotter. It’s not a bad idea to stay at home.
