I like all kinds of music. I don’t care as long as they are not old-fashioned. Among all songs, if I have to choose one, I definitely have to choose upbeat songs such as BTS’s Savage Love, etc. I think the song suits everyone’s taste. Whenever I feel like I am under the weather, I pop up the music and I feel like I can escape from a boring routine. How about you?

Music… I think I listen to music wherever I go and whenever it is. But, if I have to choose one place, I think I mostly like to listen to music when I go walking in a park. In the park, I listen to upbeat music over and over. Sometimes, I listen to catchy and trendy songs which are for all age groups. I don’t really go to concerts. I’d like to avoid the crowd if possible. Plus, even though I am crazy about music, I am not crazy enough to buy one hundred dollars for a couple hours. I might try if I become crazy enough. Instead, I just stay in a cafe or go to a park when listening to music. There are various ways to listen to music but I think I prefer to use a smartphone thanks to its portability and convenience.

Okay, I was never interested in music. Music was the only thing that I hated as a teenager. I just couldn’t understand why.

Here’s what happened. When I was in high school, I fell in love with a band named _____. My friend was singing along to the song and I figured that the song was catchy. So, I asked him for the name and I just fell in love with it. That song gave me goosebumps.

Ever since then, I’ve been listening to _____. I listen whenever I do my house chores, walk in the park, or exercise. Now, music is just such a big part of my life and I don’t think I can live without it.

A memorable experience umm…. okay. I don’t really like to go to a concert because tickets are quite expensive for me. So, I think I can talk about my experience at a singing room. As you know, I love singing. So, I used to go to a karaoke weekends. Anyway, I have to say that the most memorable experience was when I went to a singing room a few years ago. There was one friend who seemed to be a bit shy. So, I didn’t know that he was good at singing. But once he started singing Maroon 5’s song called Sugar. I was just absolutely shocked because his singing skill was so amazing that he even sounded just like Maroon 5. This experience sticks to my mind because I felt like I was in a concert.

Oh, I didn’t know that you play violin in an orchestra. That’s awesome. I also wanted to learn when I was young. Anyway, can I ask you some questions?

What’s the name of the orchestra? Do you play in Korea or America?

Also, why did you choose violin? I mean playing violin is cool but have you ever thought about playing other instruments?

Lastly, where do you practice? I think it's impossible to practice at home because most houses aren’t soundproof for instruments. Do you have a place where you practice?

Yeah. I do have a similar experience. Actually, it’s worse than what you think. When I was on my vacation in America, I really needed a car to go on a road trip. But, all the rental car companies were fully booked because it was the peak season. So, I had no choice but to ask one of my friends if I could borrow his car. And, surprisingly, he let me use his car during the break. So, I went to Las Vegas with that car and you guess what happened there. The car was so old that it couldn’t even drive for four hours. The car just stopped in the middle of nowhere and the engine blew. I had to call the roadside service and I think I ended up paying more than $500 for the long distance roadside service. It was a horrible experience.

To be honest, I don't have a specific genre of music that I would call my favorite.

I'm not very picky when it comes to music, so I enjoy listening to a variety of genres such as pop, K-pop, and even acoustic or ballad songs depending on my mood.

Since I'm supposed to make a comparison, let me talk about two of the most famous K-pop artists in Korea, IU and BTS.

First, let me start with IU. You may have heard of her before.

In particular, I’d like to talk about music streaming services, which have become a big part of our daily lives.

Let me start by mentioning some of the popular streaming platforms in Korea.

One of the biggest ones is called Melon.

I’ve been using Melon ever since I was young, and I probably use it even more now since I’m basically glued to my smartphone all day.

Melon, funny name, right? Like the fruit.

Anyway, it’s incredibly convenient in many ways.

What I love most is that I can create my own playlists.

Thanks to advanced technology like artificial intelligence, I no longer have to spend time organizing my favorite songs manually.

The app automatically recommends playlists based on my listening habits, which saves time and makes the experience more enjoyable.

Let me use the remaining time to touch on one more exciting trend, which is AI-generated music.

Nowadays, people can use AI services to mix and recreate songs using the voices of different artists.

For example, you can even hear something as unexpected as Justin Bieber singing the Korean national anthem.

It’s pretty mind-blowing.

This kind of collaboration between musicians and AI is opening up a whole new chapter in the music industry.

There are many other new developments in this field, but for now, those are the ones that stood out most to me.
